The Adapted Floor Hockey team smiles as they receive hearty applause from their peers

The Owatonna Adaptive Floor Hockey team is taking another trip to the state tournament after beating White Bear Lake Area High School in playoffs. They have had a great season thus far with a record of 8-3. The team continues to work hard leading up to the state tournament. The tournament will be held at Bloomington Jefferson High School with the first round of play against the Anoka-Hennepin Mustangs. The team is preparing for the tournament just like they would for any other game. “We are focusing on puck control, offensive movement and our tough zone defense,” said head coach John Scheil.

This is not the first time the Owatonna Adaptive Floor Hockey team has made it to the state tournament, and in previous years, they have done really well. “The best part about making it to state is seeing all of the hard work that the athletes have put in this season pay off,” said Scheil. Their hard work in practice shines during their games, and they bring positive energy not only on the court, but off the court as well. They are a close-knit team, and they enjoy spending time with each other, going to state furthers their bond as athletes and friends.
