The Owatonna Boys Lacrosse team kicked off their first game of the season with a loss to Hopkins on Saturday, April 11. The Huskies are beginning to create some chemistry with each other to smooth over their playing on the field. Head coach Scott Seykora said, “I look forward to the growth and experience that will be gained this season” To reach that growth and experience, everyone on the team will need to give one hundred percent on and off the field. Senior midfielder Ben Callen said, “Everyone works hard in practice and it translates on the field during games. Everyone gives it their all.” The team lost all ten starters from last year, shoes needed to be filled and opportunities for players to step up were plentiful. Senior midfielder Seth Huseby said, “Our team has a lot of young talent as well as an upperclass that leads with experience.” The Huskies look to rebound this weekend with an away game at Chaska on Friday, April 17. The boys also play a home game against Hastings on Saturday, April 18 at 7:00 p.m.
