Teeing off the season
The boys golf team is off to a wobbly start, yet is showing promise. The Huskies tee’d off against Mankato East on April 14, and fell by 10 strokes in the dual. The team gathered themselves and returned to take second at the Wilmar Litchfield invite on April 17. The team is looking to sharpen their skills in time for their section meet. Each of the Huskies’ golfers are dedicated and buy into the coaching system. This year, the Huskies are led by senior captain Peter Jones, who was recently ranked the number one high school golfer in the state of Minnesota by the Minnesota Golf Association. Jones said, “We could be two different teams from the start of the season to the end.” To compliment the talented upperclass, the team has rising young talent. Senior captain Cole Butler said, “Andrew Wall is a sophomore and has been putting in the time to really help the team out”. The Huskies head to Northfield on Thursday, April 23, and tee off at 2:30 p.m.
