Lax to the Max

The 2015 Owatonna Girls Lacrosse team is currently undefeated with a 3-0 record. The team is led by senior captains Krista and Kayla Kniefel. Kayla Kniefel said, “The reason the team is having such great success is because we don’t look past any team and take it game by game.” The approach has worked well for the girls as they look to improve on last year’s 11 win season. Senior goalie Kacy Borwege is currently the number three ranked goalie in save percentage for the state of Minnesota. Another top performer on the team is Krista Kniefel, who is fourth in the state in goals scored and sixth in the state in total points. Junior defender Gabi Zeman said, “Each team presents a different challenge, and we need to take it game by game.” The girls play at Bloomington Kennedy on Saturday, April 25. The OHS’ Girls Lacrosse team has a lot of firepower and is poised and ready to make a deep run in the playoffs this year.
