The Owatonna Girls Softball team started their season with a record of 3-4. Coach Brian Pilcher leads the varsity team along with senior captain Abby Bendorf and junior captains Kayla Johnson, Millie Wanous and Rachel Williamson. On Saturday the Huskies won a tournament in Austin against three other teams. Pilcher said, “A couple of goals for the team this year is that we are striving to finish in the top four of the conference and to keep improving all through the season.” Mankato East is a big competition for the team, who they already defeated in a double header this season. Wanous said, “Well, we are all starting to hit the ball and communicate more and play together as a team.”  the team heads to Faribault on Thursday. The next home game will be Tuesday, May 5, at Manthey Park at 5:00 p.m.
