The Owatonna Girls Golf team started their season off with great wins and now have a record of 6-3. Leading the team is coach Tim Hunst and senior captains Maddie Peglow and Anna Edel. Peglow said, “The season has been going great. We get along as a team and we connect really well.” The conference match will be held in Northern Hills on May 15 against Rochester Century and Red Wing. In regard to their upcoming match, Peglow said, “Red Wing is a very good team, and they’re our best competition at conferences, so we hope to get second. Some of the meets can get really long, but on the plus side the girls you play against are really nice and funny.” The Big 9 conference meet is in Rochester at the Eastwood Golf Course on Monday, May 18, and the team hopes to place in the top five. The section meet will be held on May 28 and if the team advances the next match is on June 1.
