Sprinting to the finish
The Owatonna Boys Track and Field team is flying high after a first place finish in a home triangular meet against the Winona Winhawks and Austin Packers. The team also placed first in their most recent meet in Faribault. Jacob Johnson finished first in the hurdles, and sophomore
Darik Elstad placed second in the shot put. This is the first time the Huskies have won back to back meets. They look to use this momentum in their pursuit of their goal of a Big 9 Conference championship. Senior captain Jacob Zabel said, “That the momentum will help a lot, and that we’re peaking at the right time.“ Watch the Huskies compete for the conference title on Friday, May 22, at the Mankato East High School. The starting gun fires at 10:30 a.m.
