Three headed to State Track
The Owatonna Boys and Girls Track team has worked hard this season to send freshman Margo Achterkirch, junior Jacob Johnson and senior captain Matt Kingland to state. Achterkirch will be participating in the 200 meter dash. She said, “I was very excited and happy.” The head coach for Girls Track, Ann Christensen said, “It’s an exciting time for her (Achterkirch). I hope she does well.”
Johnson will be participating in the 110 meter hurdles and said, “I was excited and very thankful to the coaches for guiding me here.” Kingland will be participating in high jump. He said, “I was very excited! Making it with a personal best is awesome.”
Head coach Kevin Stelter said, “Both guys were section champions, and we’re looking forward to a great state meet.” The state meet will be June 5- 6, at Hamline University located in St. Paul.
