OHS Boys Lacrosse looking ahead to sections
With the school year winding down, the Owatonna Boy’s Lacrosse team looks to turn it up in the last weeks of the school year. Currently sitting at an overall record of 5-5 (4-4 in the Big 9), the team sits fourth in the conference. Junior captain, RJ Kneifel, commented on the play of the boys stating, “There has been a lot of ups and downs this year, but I think when we put it all together we are going to have a pretty good shot at achieving our goals.” The Huskies conclude the regular season with competitions against Rochester Century, Coon Rapids and a tough Rochester JM team.
Head coach, Scott Seykora, was very satisfied with the boys thus far. Seykora said, “We have greatly improved our record from last year- we only had one win and this year we have five so we are coming together as a team.” With a strong end to the season, the Huskies could push for a decent seed in the section tournament starting on May 28. Seykora said, “We will probably be middle of the pack for sections with the two Lakeville teams and Farmington in our section, but we are hoping for one or two wins and will take it from there.”
Come support the boys at home tonight, May 9, vs. Rochester Century at 7:30 p.m.
