The Owatonna Girls Swim team started off their season strong with back to back wins against Red Wing and Mankato East. Since then, they have had a few shortcomings, but are maintaining an ambitious attitude. Their next meet is coming up on Oct. 20 against Mankato West. Senior captain Katie Belina commented on what her team needs to improve on, “We need to focus on bettering our team with positive encouragement, resting and eating well.” Rest is a critical necessity in swimming, because the physical exertion level is very high. The swim and dive team is looking forward to getting better and preparing for the section tournament. Today the Huskies will be swimming at Faribault. Looking ahead, next month the swim team will be competing in sections on Nov. 10 and 12 while the dive team will compete on Nov. 11.
