2016 has been a good year as far as movies go with three movies having box office profits in the top 15 highest ever. Rogue One, Hacksaw Ridge, Captain America Civil War and Deadpool all showed to produce a large fan base. These movies have all created high expectations for the ones coming out in 2017. This year is looking to be bright, especially with many of the movies being hyped up.

Justice League

In this sequel of Batman vs Superman, Batman teams up with Wonder Woman in attempt to destroy a great threat. Quickly they try to find others to help them and create a team of superhumans. They do succeed in recruiting Aquaman, Cyborg and the Flash, but the threat to the world is imminent. Many are looking forward to its scheduled release on Nov. 17 of this year.

Pirates of the Caribbean 5

Captain Jack Sparrow senses misfortune is in his future when a group of deadly ghosts led by his nemesis escape from Devil’s Triangle. Jack’s only hope of survival is to find the legendary Trident of Poseidon. There is a problem though, in order to find the trident, Jack must team up with a hard headed young man from the navy. This fifth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean series is expected to release on May 26, 2017.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2

In the first movie, there were many events that the crowd was drawn to. The action and hilarity of it created a large expectation and hyped up the soon coming sequel. The team will continue its journeys and begin to unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s, the main character, parents. This sequel will no doubt be met with filled seats on its release date of May 5.

The Fate of the Furious

Dom and Letty are on their honeymoon while Brian and Mia are retired and done performing for the government, and the rest of their team has been exonerated. Some mysterious women finds a way to get Dom back into the world of crime and none of his crew can seem to get Dom back to normal. This long running series has fans waiting for the opening night on Apr. 14.

Annabelle 2

The fourth installment of The Conjuring and sequel to Annabelle is sure to live up to the hype for those who are into scary movies. Annabelle is a possessed doll that always seems to find its way into the arms of a helpless family. Who is next in the unfortunate line of families? Find out on Aug. 11!

Star Wars: The Last Jedi

The Last Jedi may be one of the most highly anticipated movies of 2017. After seeing the box office records The Force Awakens saw, one can only expect a great film. This movie will continue on the adventures of Luke Skywalker, Leia Skywalker and Rey with their journey to destroy the dark side and defeat Kylo Ren. Dec. 15 of this year will be a highlight of the year for Star Wars fans.

All these movies are set to be released in 2017, in theaters. Check them out and see if they lived up to the hype many are anticipating.
