Kicking off OHS Cash Drive

On Dec. 3 OHS Student Council shared with the school this year’s recipient of the cash drive. Students gathered to hear about We All Play and heard testimony from Mr. Pierce as to why the all inclusive playground is a need in the Owatonna Community.
Events for the week
The OHS Cash Drive fundraising events will be open to the public this week. Monday, Dec. 3 is going to be Elementary Game Night from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. in the OHS gymnasium. Thursday, Dec. 6 is the Art Splash, which will be held at Chill-Aqui coffee from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Friday, Dec. 7 from 9:00 to 12:00 p.m. will be the OHS Ugly Sweater Dance.
The OHS Student Council will also be hosting numerous different fundraising activities for students during lunch periods at the high school. On Monday students will be able to play music in the cafeteria, Tuesday there will be a trivia competition, Wednesday students will be digging for gummy worms, Thursday will be Bingo and Friday kids have to opportunity to wax their legs in front of the entire school. Student council member Sarah Kingland said, “Lunch time activities are very important because it helps with the overall total to our giving’s and they go a long way when you add it all together, plus its a fun way to get our peers involved.
OHS hopes to raise a total of $8,000 going towards the all inclusive playground at Manthey Park here in Owatonna.
