The OHS Girls Swim and Dive team’s season is making a big splash this year. The team’s depth has increased, with bigger numbers than in previous years.  With the new numbers, coaches are pushing the girls hard at practice. Coach Isaiah Fuller said, “The team is working harder than they’ve ever worked before. Weightlifting, fighting through sickness, fighting through fatigue and we’re still seeing improvements.” With all the promising new swimmers, competition for varsity seats within the team is heated.

The team has created a strong bond this year. Junior captain Cheryl Smith said, “There is a good team chemistry. We’re working on building each other up, and you can really see it during practice and meets.” The team has the Big 9 meet on Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Rochester Recreation Center.
