The Owatonna boys varsity hockey teams’ season ended Thursday night with a tough loss at Lakeville South with a final score of 7-0. The team finished with a 11-12-2 record. The Huskies were the seventh seed in sections, losing to the second seed Cougars. Coach Josh Storm said, “I’m proud of the way our team competed during the season. Every guy gave it their all throughout and, therefore, exceeded expectations.” Coach Storm was not the only one who was impressed with the Huskies’ season. Senior Pete Jones said, “I think we made significant progress throughout the year. [Justin] Stein and Jari [Lindfors] were nice additions to our team this year because we didn’t anticipate having them. We had a large amount of sophomores who played well this year too, the future is bright.”

The seniors, Pete Jones, Greg Somers, Jacob Harrison, Brady Heaney, Jari Lindfors, and Justin Stein, will be missed. Jones said, “I want to thank all the coaches and my teammates for all of the memories and fun I’ve had.” The season is over, but the Huskies will come back next year looking to build upon and improve for 2016.
