Story time with Wagner:
After coaching speech for decade, I took a couple of years off. I found myself in the classroom maybe having the most fun ever. I had a groove. When Mr. Marschel announced he would be giving up Magnet, I thought "I could do that". I had seen the Newsroom and Will McAvoy had given me a sense of journalism ethics. I started recruiting (mostly my sophomores) and found a talented group of kids who have shown me what passion, creativity, hard work, and a lot snark can add up to. What we have done was change how OHS receives its stories.
Even though I hear The Office theme song in my head as I look around the our newsroom, I see our staff working hard. Sometimes challenging each other to get to the best story possible. Sometimes teaching each other something cool. Most the time, just laughing at each other. It is special. I am thankful to be a part of it.
