The Road to El Dorado, rated PG, is a adventure/comedy all ages will love. The movie’s premise revolves around two guys named Tulio and Miguel, voiced by Kevin Kline and Kenneth Branagh, who mysteriously stumble upon a map that leads them to the fabled City of Gold, called El Dorado. These two gold-lusting guys scheme their way to El Dorado, but then something goes wrong, and they become lost at sea before they are swept upon the shore of El Dorado. In El Dorado, they are worshipped by the natives for their foreign appearances. They play along, but sometimes, that is not the right choice to make. Watch the full movie to know how their story ends, and have a great laugh while doing so!

The hilarious G-rated movie The Emperor’s New Groove stars David Spade as the voice of Emperor Kuzco. The Emperor’s New Groove starts off with Kuzco as a llama crying as he rewinds back to why it is he is crying in the opening scene. Kuzco is an ignorant Emperor that is so full of himself, he does not care for the people in his town. After he fires Yzma, his advisor, and makes his guard throw an old man out the window, a townsman named Pacha, voiced by John Goodman, comes to the palace because of a note that Kuzco’s staff wrote to him. Conflict builds between Pacha and Kuzco, as Kusco wants to destroy his home to put up a Kuzco waterpark. And with Yzma out for his crown, things become hectic. Kuzco turns into a llama, and it comes down to needing to mend fences and work together with Pacha to get back to town to regain his crown before Yzma takes the whole town down with her. Will he make it? Only time will tell.

Chicken Little follows a dorky and scared young chicken named Chicken Little, voiced by Zach Braff, as he goes to school and gets bullied. After losing a baseball game for his town and mistaking an acorn for the end of the world, scaring everyone, his reputation was down the drain as no one believed a word he said. As he tries to build up his courage, a strange objects flies into his bedroom, and soon, his town is invaded by aliens. It is up to him and his friends to figure out a plan to save the world. This music filled film makes audience members’ hearts go out for Chicken Little as he is faced with the heroic task of saving his town after ruining his name. Will they prevail, or will Chicken Little fail once again?

Shark Tales takes great actors and hilarious scenes to make this film a classic. The film revolves around what is under the sea- about the world humans cannot see. The film follows the gangster boss shark of the sea, Don Lino, voiced by Robert De Niro, as he wants his not-so-tough son Lenny, voiced by Jack Black, to follow in his footsteps. But little does he know that Lenny is not like other sharks- he is a vegetarian. It is not long until Oscar, an under the sea animal ‘car’ wash worker, is finally tired of not being known and decides to meet up with Lenny to hatch a plan. They make a deal, but little does Oscar know that messing with a gangster boss’s son comes with some consequences. Now, it is up to Oscar to find a way to keep his fame and explain what really happened, all the while trying not to get killed. What will happen to Oscar? Watch the film and find out!

This stop motion animation incorporates catchy songs and great voice actors to get the audience entertained in a short amount of time. Flushed Away, follows a pet rat named Roddy, voiced by Hugh Jackman, in London. As his owners leave for a trip, he escapes his cage and makes his freedom worthwhile. But as another rat intrudes on his freedom, Roddy is pushed into the toilet and makes his way down to the sewers, to a world he never knew existed. Trying to find his way back home, he gets mixed up with a sewer scavenger rat named Rita, voiced by Kate Winslet, as she tries to escape from the bad guys. But as she fails to escape, Roddy soon becomes responsible for the loss of her jewel, and he tries to make a deal with her. She agrees to help Roddy get back to his house, but with one condition- he has to help her get back her jewel that was taken from her. With the two working together, they soon get into conflict with the bad guys that stole the jewel and have to figure a way out of their grasp. Will Roddy get back home, or will he have to stay in the sewers forever?

Robots, is a film built for everyone and follows a robot genius inventor named Rodney Copperbottom, voiced by Ewan McGregor. Rodney hopes to make the world a better place and work for his idol and master inventor Bigweld, voiced by Mel Brooks. As he decides to travel to the big cities to introduce his invention at the Bigweld Industries, he meets Fender, voiced by the never forgotten Robin Williams. Soon after Rodney arrives at the Bigweld’s building, he locks eyes with a beautiful robot named Cappy, voiced by Halle Berry. It is love at first sight for him, even if she does not know it yet. But with Bigweld no longer in charge, the new company’s owner Phineas T. Ratchet, voiced by Greg Kinnear, makes guards escort him out of the building after barging in and things get crazy after that. With Rodney only wanting to help other robots, conflict builds between him and Ratchet, as he only has evil in mind. Now, it is up to Rodney and his friends to defeat Ratchet and save Robot City from his destruction. Will he succeed or become spare parts?

Meet the Robinsons, has it’s twist and turns, leaving the audience in wonder. The film is centered around Lewis, voiced by Daniel Hanson, who is a brilliant inventor, creates an invention for his school’s science fair in hopes of winning. But as he tries to make his invention work for the judges, something goes wrong, and it destroys everyone else’s projects including his, but one. Lewis leaves his broken invention there and goes home angry because it malfunctioned and is sad he did not win the fair. But soon, Lewis returns back to the fair to get his invention, only to find that it was stolen by a guy wearing a bowler hat, voiced by Stephen J. Anderson. Soon after, a young time-traveling boy named Wilbur, voiced by Wesley Singerman, comes to take Lewis to the future in his time machine to catch the thief that took his invention. Lewis spends a day in the future with Wilber’s unique family and teams up with Wilbur to catch the bowler hat guy. In the end, Lewis finds out an amazing secret that audience members never would have expected. What is the secret? Watch the film to figure it out!

Eight Crazy Nights is one of the best movies made by Adam Sandler because it incorporates fantastic musical numbers and an overall entertaining storyline. This PG-13 film follows the trouble maker and alcoholic character Davey Stone, voiced by Adam Sandler, as he creates a ruckus in Dukesberry, New Hampshire that leads to him standing in front of a judge. This was not his first time getting in trouble with the law. So, with the judge tired of his acts and carelessness, he was ready to sentence Stone to jail, but then an old assistant referee named Whitey Duvall, also voiced by Adam Sandler, and nice guy in town makes a plea on Stone’s behalf. Stone has to do community service beside Duvall as he was the one that saved him from going to jail. With conflicts arising between the two, Duvall refuses to give up and is determined to help Stone. This is Davey’s last chance to put his life back together, but will he do it?

Although this list does not include every animated film, this list is sure to make winter break less boring and more memorable. So, gather together as a family, drink some hot chocolate, bake some popcorn and enjoy these animated movies that bring back memories of the past. And have a great winter break!
